Bridging Ancient Wisdom and Modern Science
With a family lineage deeply rooted in Chinese medicine and a solid foundation in science, I have cultivated a unique blend of scientific expertise and traditional healing knowledge.
My academic journey began with a Biochemistry degree at Imperial College London, where I delved into the world of molecular science and genetics. My professional path led me to the AstraZeneca cancer research department, where I gained a deeper understanding of the causes of illness from a Western medicine perspective.
However, my passion for holistic healing drew me toward a different path. I embarked on a transformative journey under the guidance of a renowned Chinese medicine teacher and practitioner, Xin Li, in China. There, I immersed myself in the intricate arts of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, absorbing centuries-old wisdom from a master in the field. During the three-year Diploma course in Chinese Medicine, I also studied with many other distinguished teachers and practitioners, including Yingyang Zhong (Tai Chi), Sylvia Martin (Acupuncture), Yarong Xu (Acupuncture), Kaihan Ma (Herb Medicine), and Regis Blin (Energy Osteopathy).
Upon graduation, my commitment to excellence earned me recognition from Dr. Li and the privilege of advanced studies under his mentorship. Subsequently, I became a valued teaching assistant for Dr. Li, sharing my passion for the ancient healing art and helping shape future practitioners.
Equipped with a diverse skill set encompassing acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, energy osteopathy, moxibustion, and more, I possess a nuanced understanding of the strengths inherent in various Chinese medicine treatment modalities. This enables me to tailor treatments to each individual, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
My gentle approach is well-suited for patients of all ages, particularly for those in delicate health states. I also specialize in a technique known as 'Non-Needle Acupuncture,' which offers non-invasive acupuncture for children and individuals averse to needles.
Beyond my formal studies, I have dedicated years to the practice of meditation and Tai Chi, further enriching my understanding of the mind-body connection and the holistic nature of well-being.
Professional Qualifications
I have passed the Assistant TCM Practitioner Qualification Examination, accredited by the National Health Commission of China (NHS China). This certification is part of China’s standardized licensing system for Traditional Chinese Medicine, requiring rigorous theoretical and clinical assessments.
